CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #60–Text Me!

Happy post-4th of July!!  How were your Fourth festivities?!  Ours were extremely quiet because we were babysitting our two cutie patootie grandsons so that mom and dad could have a night off.  There were certainly years where we partied with the best of ‘em, but we’re kinda grateful for quieter holidays these days.  I guess we’re getting OLD!  LOL

So let’s get down to the reason why you’re popping in today – the latest CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, which is to create a CLEAN & SIMPLE project and include TEXT in your design.

Because it’s the first challenge of the month, we are once again looking for a Guest Designer (this week’s TGIF Winner), which also means that Simon Says Stamps is our sponsor extraordinaire – LOVE THEM!!  Simon Says Stamps has provided a fabulous prize for this week’s TGIF Winner, but you’ll have to click on through to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog to find out what it is.  Thank you, Simon Says Stamps!!

Here’s my answer to the challenge.  Now, you’re probably asking yourself, “Hmmm . . .where IS the text in your project, Karolyn?”  Right?!!  Well, if you look verrrrryyyyyy closely, you’ll see that I embossed the card front with the Book Print Impression Plate.  So my text is there – it’s just very subtle.  Fun, right?  I stamped the row of books (this stamp was given to me by a super sweet lady when I saw it used on Cristina Kowalcyk’s Gallery Idol project from last year – thank you Tonya!!) three times at the bottom of the card front in some really fun colors, and then stamped and die cut the sentiment banner.  This would be a fun Book Club invite, right?!  I don’t belong to a book club, but I’m just sayin’ . . . LOL

PRODUCTS USED:

STAMPS:  Book Border (Studio Calico), Table Service (PTI)
INK:  Pear Tart and Grape Jelly (Memento), Black and Splash (Hero Arts/Memories)

Well, I’m in the midst of creating some projects for a publication call (with a Monday deadline), so I won’t be able to share them with you until they are REJECTED!!  LOL But as soon as they are (hopefully they won’t be ), I’ll for sure share with you!  Until then, thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend!!
